Licensed Professional Counselor
Hello, my name is Larissa Farah and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with Cypress Counseling & Behavioral Center, named The Best Therapy Services in Cyfair for 5 years in a row!
If you are here checking out my profile, changes that navigating life and today’s society can feel overwhelming, and you may find ourselves feeling stuck or stagnant. My goal is to meet you where you are and explore the core issues that are impacting your life so that we may develop an individualized approach to meet your needs. My therapeutic approach consists of deep empathy, openness, kindness, and a sense of humor.
I believe that a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, collaboration, authenticity, and transparency can help facilitate healing and growth. My commitment to you is to foster a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable to be yourself. Taking the first step in reaching out for help is not easy and can feel vulnerable. I believe that it is very important to find a therapist that you connect with and are comfortable with. I encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
I was born in Lebanon (a tiny country in the Middle East) and moved to the US when I was 7 years old. Moving to a new country took some time to adjust to and continues to prove some of its challenges as I balance two different cultures in my everyday life. As I got older, I became curious and fascinated by human behavior and why we all think, process, and act very differently. It fascinated me even more that while our hardships are all unique to us, we can still relate to one another on some level. There was a type of connectedness that could not be denied seeing as we are all humans on a floating planet trying to figure things out. I followed my interest and decided to major in Psychology and Communications in undergrad, and continued on to graduate school to receive a Masters in Clinical Psychology.
During my college years, I experienced some obstacles that would have been a lot more challenging to get through without positive therapeutic support. My personal experience of overcoming these obstacles and dealing with my own mental health inspired me to want to help others. My enthusiasm for becoming a therapist continued to grow as I entered graduate school. I became passionate and found joy in helping others find their own strength, autonomy, and agency. I saw the importance of a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, built on trust, and fosters a safe environment as it can help a client’s ability to heal, grow, and reach their full potential.
