Hello there! My name is Monica Romo and I am one of the therapist with Cypress Counseling & Psychotherapy named Best Therapy Services in Cy-Fair! I work with children, teens, and adults. I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, new moms, and those who have survived traumatic events. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and I have experience working with immigrants. I’m passionate about serving this community and I can help people needing immigration evaluations.
I strive to create a safe environment in which my clients feel supported to explore the complex issues they are facing. Some of the ways I do this are by recognizing and uplifting the uniqueness and strengths of each of my clients. When I work with children and young teens, I use a play-therapy approach.
Therapy can be difficult. When we work together, you can expect a sense of empathy, and of being fully supported and understood. I will work with you to develop coping strategies and skills to help you better navigate stressors and relationships. I will help you regain confidence and a sense of control and acceptance in your life.
I’m originally from Mexico and I spent most of my life in San Antonio. I moved to the Houston area in 2020. I’m a mom, and I enjoy spending time playing and doing activities with my daughter.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a social worker as I’ve had a strong desire to help people. While attending graduate school, I received the Hogg Foundation Bilingual Scholarship, which required me to do an internship in the mental health field. I immediately discovered my interest and passion for helping people struggling with their mental health. During my career, I’ve had the honor of helping children, teens, and adults during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I have also benefited from therapy during difficult times in my own life. I know that therapy can have a huge positive impact on our lives, and I hope I can help you in your journey.
I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with children, teens, and adults. I have experience working with people struggling with life stressors, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, career changes, and new mom. I believe in a collaborative approach. I work with each client to identify strengths and develop skills.
