Whether you’ve arrived here through a long journey of self-discovery or a simple curiosity about therapy, I’m honored by the possibility of joining you at this moment in your life. Choosing to face ourselves in pursuit of deeper understanding, healing, and growth is profoundly courageous. Choosing who to invite into that process is an act of trust—a leap into being deeply human in a world that can often feel judgmental or unforgiving.
From the time we are born, we’re shaped to fit into that kind of world. Slowly, we may be pulled away from our inner selves in the name of safety or conformity. When our natural instincts are shamed or dismissed, we can begin to feel powerless—and fear may take over, often showing up in ways that keep us stuck.
In our work together, I offer a space grounded in the belief that we each carry the innate capacity to heal. What we need most is to be truly witnessed and to experience authentic connection. At the core of my practice is the idea that relationships rooted in compassion, honesty, and acceptance can be deeply affirming and reparative.
Together, we’ll explore the layers of your experience, build tools for healing, and cultivate self-compassion. Seeking help is an act of bravery—and I’m honored to walk alongside you on this path.
My Story:
I’ve always been deeply curious about people—their stories, their inner worlds, and what drives
them. Though I’m American, I spent my formative years in the United Arab Emirates, immersed in a rich tapestry of cultures and experiences. That shaped my deep appreciation for both our uniqueness and our shared humanity.
Growing up, I was the kid who hung out in the guidance counselor’s office between classes, worrying about the future and who I was supposed to be – but also discovering the value in expressing myself, being seen, and feeling supported. I read self-help books instead of fiction. I was often the friend others leaned on—a role I embraced and still value today.
Though I always imagined becoming a therapist, my path wasn’t linear. I first pursued journalism and communications (after a brief stint in culinary school—that’s a longer story!). I spent over a decade in the tech world, working for major companies. All of those life and career choices could have led me to very different places, but my experiences illuminated the deeper values I hold about people, purpose, and connection. Volunteering on a crisis and suicide hotline several years ago as I was contemplating a career change reminded me what fulfillment feels like. I began my Master’s degree while still in tech, and now I’ve made the leap into doing the work I truly love.
Like many, I’ve faced my own struggles with trauma, anxiety, and depression. These experiences have given me a deep, personal understanding of pain and the resilience it takes to work through it. I’ve been fortunate to have skilled therapists along the way, which is part of what inspired me to pursue this work—to offer others the same compassion and healing I received.
Outside of work, I am married, getting ready to be a parent for the first time, and living with our much-adored cat, Tina.
My Training:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Maria Guerrero, LPCS, License # 69349, working with teens (16+), adults, and couples. I have a special interest in trauma work and am deeply informed by how trauma affects the brain, body, and relationships.
My approach is integrative, drawing from several therapeutic models to create a holistic, personalized experience. I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical-behavioral (DBT), mindfulness-based techniques, attachment theory, existential therapy, and person-centered approaches.
I’m currently IFS-informed and certified in trauma counseling, and I’m pursuing future training in IFS, EMDR, and Compassionate Inquiry.
I also approach therapy through a social justice lens, informed by anti-racism and anti-oppression values. I recognize the impact of systemic inequality on our mental health and am committed to creating an inclusive space where all identities are welcomed and valued.
