Therapist Associate

Master of Arts

Hello, my name is Marie Luna. I am a Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate. Chances are that you are serious about wanting to make a change and I want to congratulate you on taking the first step. Thank you, for taking time to get to learn a little bit about me and my approach to therapy. Having been a client in therapy services myself, I know that selecting the right person to accompany you on your journey can seem like quite the task. I want to assure you that you’re not alone. I understand how it to feels to be on both sides of the therapy relationship and want to set you at ease by letting you know that our time together is spent in a safe and judgement free space.

I absolutely love what I do, and it is my honor to be entrusted with the privilege of being my client’s therapist. As a single mother of four amazing children, I know that your time is valuable, and I empathize with the demands and stresses of wearing many hats to accomplish the tasks of everyday living.

When I experienced a series of life transitions, I turned to therapy to help me navigate these seemingly monumental changes that had been thrust upon me. My experience with receiving therapy only served to ignite my passion to give others that same opportunity to reflect upon and act to make those changes they are wanting to make. I believe that the power of encouragement can be transformational and can make all the difference. This is why, I work from a client-centered and collaborative approach to therapy. I want you to know that you are being genuinely heard, seen, understood, and supported. The therapeutic relationship that is built between therapist and client is based on trust and absolutely essential for therapy. In our sessions, our work begins by me taking the time to listen to your concerns, getting to know those aspects which make you uniquely you, and exploring those things that are most important to you. Our conversations will be used to guide, discover, and consider the options that you determine are the best way for you to get to where you want to be. YOU decide what goals you are willing to set. Together we collaborate to incorporate your strengths and consider other aspects of your life that can support the changes that you have already begun to make.

Whether you are facing issues like depression, anxiety, relationship issues or life transitions know that each of our sessions are tailored around you and your needs. I will always be respectful and attentive to match the pace at which you are comfortable. In our sessions, you can expect some pensive conversation, gentle nudging questions, and an encouraging environment. I also gladly provide psychoeducation for those inquisitive minds, role play, use of games, and yes even humor because guess what… therapy can also be fun! I want you to feel comfortable and empowered. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing my client’s reach their goals.
